Medical Assistant
General Summary:
Perform basic clinic needs for patient care such as vital signs, blood pressure, weight, pulse and sp02, review medications and allergies with the patient each time they come to office, pull up results of tests and laboratory results from charts.
Perform basic procedures such as PT/INR for Coumadin Management, EKG’s Holter Monitors, Event monitors and spirometries. Back up for External Counter Pulsation.
Assist with stress lab with preparing the patient for the stress test:
Hook up an EKG to the patient.
Document vital signs
Assist the attending RN and Nuclear Tech while test if being conducted with blood pressure checks.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Certified Medical Assistant
Cardiology Experience – preferred.
Medical Terminology,
Experienced office (clinical) and inpatient setting required.
Knowledge of medication classifications.
Experience in maintaining and disposing of biohazardous material.
Experience using EMR.
Experience with GE Centricity – preferred.
MUST have transportation and be able to travel to multiple offices at any time.
